Our faith identity is an important part of our personal identity. As our Catholic faith becomes the compass for our lives, the elements of our faith identity shape our actions and choices. Young adolescents are in a crucial time for naming, forming and strengthening characteristics of their identity. This five week session explores the topic of Catholic faith identity and gives youth an opportunity to reflect on the role of faith in their life.

This session invites high school young people to reflect on their identity as Catholic Christians and to help them articulate why their faith is important to them and how it impacts their life on a daily basis.

The Great Pumpkin!

How Christ Lights Our Way

This session builds community with your young people as they prepare for Halloween night. Participants have the opportunity to carve a pumpkin and then reflect on the experience while drawing faith connections.  The teens will see how things we do in our society today have connection to Catholic traditions.

Anointing of the Sick

Reconciliation

The teens will be reintroduced to the sacraments in a way that honors their existing experience and understanding of the sacraments and challenges them to reflect more deeply on their understanding of the sacraments and their participation in the sacraments. This session will highlight the Church’s understanding of sacraments, Jesus and sacraments, grace, the Paschal Mystery, and symbols.
