Jesus in the Coming Year Our faith identity is an important part of our personal identity. As our Catholic faith becomes the compass for our lives, the elements of our faith identity shape our actions and choices. Young adolescents are in a crucial time for naming, forming and strengthening characteristics of their identity. This five week session explores the topic of Catholic faith identity and gives youth an opportunity to reflect on the role of faith in their life. |

September 30, 2009 7-8:15 p.m. Catholic to the Core: Exploring Catholic Faith Identity, Part II Our faith identity is an important part of our personal identity. October 7, 2009 7:00 – 8:15 pm Big T, Little T Traditions Sometimes we as Catholic Christian people make some of our little “t’s” traditions into big “T” traditions. This session will explore the traditions of our faith and if they are little “t” or big “T”.

October 14, 2009 7-8:15 p.m. It’s Cool to Be Catholic: A Fostering Catholic Identity This session invites high school young people to reflect on their identity as Catholic Christians and to help them articulate why their faith is important to them and how it impacts their life on a daily basis. |

7-8:15 p.m. Day of the Dead Día de los Muertos is a celebration of expression in many ways. Not only is it dedicated to remembering and honoring those that have passed before us, it is also centrally focused on the artistic expression of the living through the creation. |

7-8:15 p.m. Sacraments, the Catholic Way of Life, Part I Baptism Eucharist Confirmation Marriage November 11, 2009 7-8:15 p.m. Sacraments, the Catholic Way of Life, part II Anointing of the Sick Holy Orders Reconciliation The teens will be reintroduced to the sacraments in a way that honors their existing experience and understanding of the sacraments and challenges them to reflect more deeply on their understanding of the sacraments and their participation in the sacraments. This session will highlight the Church’s understanding of sacraments, Jesus and sacraments, grace, the Paschal Mystery, and symbols. |
